About me

I completed a 3-year BA degree in Psychology and Communications in 1999 and followed this in 2001 with a 1-year Programme for Trainers.

In 2004 I completed a 2-year WPF* Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling at The Counselling Centre, Tunbridge Wells. My core training is Psychodynamic and I have further training in couples and telephone counselling.

I am accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and committed to continued professional development to enhance my skills and keep abreast with latest research in counselling theory and practice. I am registered as an "Understanding your eating" Licenced Practitioner and a Counsellor for the ME Trust as well as a Supervisor for CRUSE bereavement counselling.

*WPF is one of the leading counselling and psychotherapy training organisations in the UK. It has a reputation for both clinical and academic excellence and is accredited by the BACP and the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). These two organisations are the largest professional bodies for counsellors and psychotherapists in the UK and ensure the highest professional standards.

Clinical experience

I began counselling at The Counselling Centre in Tunbridge Wells (TCC) in 2003 and continued to see clients at TCC until 2009. In addition to my private practice I worked as a Counsellor at Burrswood Christian Hospital in Kent for ten years. Over the past 17 years I have helped many men and women from all walks of life.

Although my core training is in Psychodynamic counselling I use a more integrative approach to suit individual needs. A description of this approach can be found on the BACP website www.bacp.co.uk/seeking_therapist/theoretical_approaches.php
